TrailGraze
The Tasting Trail presents TrailGraze!
April 22-23, 2023
TrailGraze, a festival that celebrates all things food, drinks, and produce. This annual event features over 20 businesses from our region, allowing them to showcase what makes them unique. Can we hear a big ‘cheers’ to that!
So what can you expect from Trail Graze? Think, behind-the-scenes tours, workshops, live music, ‘meeting the maker’ and, of course, no foodie event would be complete without tastings. It is the Tasting Trail, after all. Who you visit and when is totally up to you. All you need to do is register and create your own recipe for a culinary adventure. Speaking of recipes, a hand-picked team of local and interstate Trail Graze chef ambassadors have created a range of specialty recipes specifically for the event to really shine a light on the local produce on offer. Dishes using these particular recipes will be available at select venues.
To help you decide how you’ll fill your belly, tempt your palate and immerse yourself in all things Tassie produce, we’ve provided a rundown on the participating producers below so you can (try to!) narrow down your favourites to visit.
First, we eat.
You only need to take a drive around Tasmania’s North West to know that this region is special. It’s a feast for the senses. Rolling green hills sit atop luscious red soil, striking coastlines are windswept by the freshest air, and the people are friendly, laid-back and passionate about their region and its wares. So it makes sense that the food produced here has a certain somethin’ somethin’ that packs a punch. Whether it’s black truffles dug from the earth by hand after being sniffed out by the resident (and very cute) truffle dog. The freshest seafood, plucked from the sea mere hours before it hits your plate, then your tastebuds. Perhaps it’s the authentic paddock-to-plate experiences where you’re surrounded by the smells and sounds of a working farm where the produce is fresh and meticulously harvested before it makes its way to you.

Ahh, that delightful first sip of a perfectly brewed, distilled or bottled beverage. Tasmania’s wine, beer and spirit industries have been not-so-secretly booming of late, thanks to the perfect combination of things like pure water, ideal maritime climate and some very clever cats behind the scenes. Awaken your palate with the unmistakable zing of a perfect Tassie sparkling or the comforting hug that is a delicious drop of Pinot Noir – and everything in between. Distilleries in the region have you covered for those top-shelf drops including award-winning whisky and gin – need we say more? Enjoy a behind the scenes look at how each variety is meticulously created using the finest local botanicals and traditional methods. If a cleansing ale is more your style then sit back with your beer or cider of choice and enjoy live music, tastings and learn a few behind the scenes secrets while you’re at it.
