The 2020 was a great success and it was a happy festival with loads of smiles. 2021 will be even better! On the March long weekend every year, SteamFest brings history to life over three days with one of the biggest collections of working steam machinery in Australia, Steam train rides, exhibitions of pioneering skills showing how things were done in yesteryear, ploughing displays and a full wood chopping competition on Monday. Taste of the North West celebrates the range of food and beverages grown and produced in Tasmania’s fertile Cradle Coast region. Coinciding with Steamfest, this paddock to plate experience allows visitors to enjoy meals, snacks and beverages featuring meat, dairy, vegetables and fruit grown in the region’s rich red basalt soils. Featuring live entertainment including music and circus performers and menus to suit kids, oldies and most dietary preferences. Entry is free.
The Australian Rowing Championships is Australia’s largest rowing regatta which attracts rowers from around Australia from school rowers to Olympians. The event will be held from 22 – 28 March 2021 at the Lake Barrington International Rowing Course. Every year, residents and visitors alike stand side by side around the Latrobe Cenotaph and are drawn to the roadside as the National award winning Latrobe Federal Band lead the march of returned veterans and community groups to the site. The atmosphere is electric as honour is paid to those that have contributed to their country in a variety of ways. Come and join this important commemoration on Australia’s calendar.
Our 2021 Lilium Bulb Sale is planned to be held at the Latrobe Memorial Hall from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday 6th June. Our Lilium Bulb Sale offers a very broad range of Lilium bulbs along with some select companion bulbs and plants. Many of these bulbs are unavailable elsewhere and are often in short supply.
