tunapri Patuyala, translated to “To understand Boat Harbour Point”, is a 1.5hr Palawa (Tasmanian Aboriginal) guided cultural walk on-country, where your guide, Jye Crosswell, will highlight the natural and cultural wonders of the northwest, as well as allow all participants to get hands-on with a cultural craft activity.
Join our hands-on papermaking tour and step into the fascinating world of this traditional craft. Not only will you learn how to make beautiful paper from scratch, but your creation will become part of something bigger. Once you’ve crafted your custom sheet, you get to add it directly to our community paper-mâché wombat. It’s a unique chance to learn a new skill and leave a permanent piece of your journey behind!

Capture the sounds and scenes as you hike along a trail from the Table Cape lookout to the Table Cape lighthouse. Rachel Meyers, a renowned Tasmanian sound artist, composer and musician recorded and created the “listenings” of Table Cape and its surrounds which can be accessed through a downloadable app. The app tracks your location on the walk and triggers the soundscape as you wander the windswept cliff line. The walk takes approximately 30 minutes one way, taking your time to enjoy the sensory experience. It is free of charge and available at any time.

The magnificent plateau of Table Cape is by far one of the North West’s most remarkable natural wonders. Sitting at 180 metres high, ‘The Cape’ – as locals refer to it – dominates the Wynyard coastline and offers spectacular views of Tasmania’s coast and agricultural farmlands. The air is crisp and the rich, chocolate brown, volcanic soil is highly productive which makes an extraordinary place for produce to be grown.
