Three secret Bloom’in hot spots

North West Tasmania’s Bloom’in Hotspots You Can’t Miss

North West Tasmania isn’t just about rugged coastlines and rolling green hills—it’s like a floral patchwork quilt at this time of year! The region is blooming with some of the most stunning landscapes you’ll ever see. So, let’s ditch the usual food trails (just for a sec) and dive into the weird and wonderful secrets of the North West!

The Patch at Table Cape Tulip Farm

Table Cape is famous for its spring tulips, but in summer, it’s all about The Patch. Picture sunflowers, dahlias, liliums, and maize, all planted in a kaleidoscope of colour and overlooking the Table Cape lighthouse. Stroll through the blooms, soak in the scenery, and either BYO or grab a picnic while you’re at it. Feeling fancy?  The bar will be open for a cheeky wine or beer. And before heading home, check out the shop for locally made goodies and flower bulbs to take a little piece of magic with you. Open Monday to Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM (with a cheeky late finish on Fridays).

Mount Gnomon Sunflowers

Gear up for the annual Sunflower Sesh at Mount Gnomon Farm! Kicking off late February (watch this space), it’s your chance to step into sunflower heaven. Snap Instagram-worthy pics, get your zen on with yoga, sip wine while painting, or pick your own blooms straight from the field. There’ll also be workshops, photoshoots, and sunflower-inspired fun galore.

Fun fact: Sunflowers are heliotropic, meaning they follow the sun. They start the day facing east, track the sun across the sky, and reset overnight to greet the next sunrise. It’s Mother Nature’s way of maximizing energy through photosynthesis. Pretty cool, huh? Don’t miss your chance to be part of this golden experience and create memories as bright as the fields themselves.

Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden

Just outside Burnie, the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden is a floral wonderland boasting over 24,000 plants from across the globe. Wander through landscapes inspired by the Himalayas, New Guinea, and beyond, and keep an eye out for the resident platypus while you’re at it. It’s the perfect spot to slow down, soak in the beauty, and breathe in that fresh garden air.

North West Tasmania is the agritourism mecca and we aren’t just talking about food—it’s about creativity, nature, and unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re a flower fanatic or just someone who loves a good view, these spots are a must for your summer bucket list. Let’s be real: life’s better when you stop and smell the flowers!
