The Duck House is a self contained heritage bed and breakfast in Burnie, on Tasmania’s North West Coast.
The two bedroom Duck House can accommodate up to six guests. The house is furnished in heritage style, with antiques, memorabilia and brass and iron beds in the bedrooms. There is a fully-equipped kitchen and dining room. The bathroom has a claw foot bath and walk-in shower. Provisions for a full breakfast, including eggs, bacon, cereals, yoghurts etc. are supplied. Guests are invited to pick their own herbs and citrus from the rear garden.
The cottage is named for its original owners, Bill Duck and his wife Winifred. The late 19th-century timber cottage is a minute’s walk from the centre of Burnie, the beach, local park, art gallery, museum and walking tracks.

In Burnie you can sample local produce, including gourmet cheeses, visit a nearby penguin colony to see Fairy Penguins return to their burrows, or go on a platypus tour.
